Day, Activity Brief Description and Meals

#1    Arrivals to CUN

Spread your wings  & mingle with your tours leader over our welcome dinner.

#2       Birding Cozumel endemics.

We will focus to enjoy 3 endemics and many more resident, migrant and vagrant birds  Vireo, wren, emerald hummingbird and if luky Cozumel Thrasher (belived extinct ).

#3    Motmots in Mayan Ruins.

We drive to archeological site to explore the mayan ruins in search of Black headed trogon, turqoise browed motmot, Yucatan vireo, yucatan jay and more in addition learn from Mayan dinasty.

#4 Long day Birding among world's heritage site, oldest astronomical observatory in the world.

These day we will  go birding , schrub euphonia, ant tanager , bath falcon and others will be present , when they take a rest we will enjoy the oldest observatory in the world and largest calendar all built with stone considered a world's heritage site is home to Yucatan gnatcatcher, Yucatan flycatcher, and many more birds. , in the evening we will enjoy the Potoo and Yucantan nightjar.

#5    EK-Balam discover Angels ? and  cenote to enjoy Owls.

Enjoy birding canivet's emerald , Mottled owl, & ferruginous pygmy ow among others , We will visit a cenote hole in the ground caused by a meteor now full with cristal water, the area is home of Turquoise-browed Motmot and many more birds ( bring your bathing suite and towel in case you want to refresh swimming  in the cenote ).

#6  Biosphere reserve Birds sanctuary #1 By land.

Enjoy Birding Biosphere reserve with thousands of birds by land  to encounter with many endemics and subspecies.

#7   Biosphere reserve-Bird sanctuary # 2 By Boat  .

Enjoy Birding Biosphere reserve with thousands of birds and other wildlife, beautiful vistas & crystal waters.

#8  Birding in Mayan community , around monkeys and perhaps jaguar and Mayan ruins.

Will visit a  mayan community , different hawks will be present today , also different woodpeckers , such as lineated , golden-fronted and Yucatan woodpeckers, but also mayan anttrush we will encounter ruins along the way and keep birding for ones we could have missed.

Day at leisure , birding light walk  in surroundings, get transferred to next venue  and farewell dinner

Trip report 2023:

We are very excited and Happy !!!! we successfully accomplished 214 species, including the endemics and many more residents, we had great culinary experiences and encounters with the ancient mayan ruins, we learn about the Pyramids, Ancient Culture, Dynasties, calendars and more, we enjoyed beautiful landscape, Jungle, Ocean, we swam in cenotes and encounter also with monkeys in addition to our main target Birds !!!

Trip report 2024:

We are very excited and Happy we accomplished 209 species including Yucatan Nightjar , Northern Potoo,  Yucatan wren, Aracari, Keel-billed Toucan, cozumel emerald, cozumel vireo, Mexican sheartail, Yucatan woodpecker, Yucatan Jay, Yucatan ,flycatcher, Yucatan vireo, Yucatan wren , motmots , Trogons , lesser yellow-headed vulture, Flamingos  and many more  species including an unusual flock of 8 swallow -tailed kites , we visited great archaeological sites , visited ans swam in cenotes and treated our palates with great flavors of the regional food .
